live | love | laugh

I first encountered yoga in my early 20’s when I was studying psychology at the University of Western Australia. As a child I had dabbled in swimming, classical ballet and then as a teenager I absolutely loved gymnastics. I had always been interested in the body, the breath and the mind so yoga was a perfect fit.

At the centre of my yoga practice is the belief that the body, breath and mind are totally connected and my teaching and my practice are always working to make the connection clear. We learn how to connect to the breath, we learn how to feel each pose with an open heart and a quiet mind. A quiet mind becomes a tool to explore ourselves more deeply, so we can more easily face life’s challenges and open to the endless possibilities that exist for us all.

My most important teaching intention is to be helpful. I try to bring inspiration, playfulness and joy into the practice. We make the time to consciously savour the simple pleasures of moving and breathing and being present. We cultivate new skills that help us live our lives with more freedom and joy.

I have developed a deep interest in the more therapeutic aspects of yoga practices which help us to wind down and soothe the nervous system.

I am sincerely grateful to all my teachers and my students who continue to inspire and inform my work and life.
